Scope:<\/strong>               The Youth Director is to honor God and serve the youth and their families by                                     inspiring them to love and serve God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supervision:<\/strong>  The Youth Director will be supervised by the Senior Pastor in conjunction                                          with the Personnel Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Must have a vital ongoing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ with a strong Christian spiritual and moral character.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Be called\/led by the Holy Spirit to serve as Director of Youth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Have a servant attitude and desire to serve the Lord through the local church.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Agree with the doctrinal statements of FBC Swannanoa as outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Demonstrate integrity, which includes maintaining confidential information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Possess the skills necessary to perform the functions of the job and the capacity to learn additional skills which the job may require.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Some experience in working with youth is preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    1. Plan, develop and implement a comprehensive Youth Ministry for grades 6-12.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Develop and maintain an evangelistic spirit and growth mindset for the Youth Ministry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Develop the spiritual life of youth through planning and supervising activities such as Bible studies, retreats, mission\/service projects, and various youth events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Plan and lead Bible studies that are biblically based and help youth grow in their relationship with Christ.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Lead regular Sunday and Wednesday night activities for youth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Enlist\/involve teachers and other leaders to assist with the youth ministry as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Encourage youth to develop their spiritual gifts and teach them the value of serving in the church by involving them in the life and ministries of the church.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Provide a welcoming atmosphere where visitors are welcome and youth are comfortable sharing, fellowshipping, praying and worshipping.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    9. Make contact with prospects and absentees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    10. Counsel with youth as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    11. Maintain open lines of communication with both youth and parents..<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    12. Perform other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
