Bent Creek Baptist Church is Prayerfully Seeking to Fill Two Ministry Roles:

Music Director

We are searching for our next Part-Time Music Director who has a passion for Christ and leading a congregation in corporate worship.

This person will oversee our Worship Band and work closely with our Lead Pastor as we facilitate worship together.

The primary responsibilities of the Music Director include: 

  • Lead Congregation in singing in worship on Sunday Morning 
  • Overseeing the Worship Band in weekly practices and sound check 
  • Song selection that compliments the week’s Sermon -
  • Occasionally assist with other music related needs (Special Services, etc.)

Youth Director

We are looking for a Part-Time Youth Director with an intimate relationship with Christ, who also has a passion for discipling students. This person will work closely with the Lead Pastor as we develop a strategy to reach and grow students in an intentional and Gospel focus way.

The primary responsibilities of the Youth Director will be:

  • Overseeing Youth Sunday School and Weekly Discipleship Meetings
  • Quarterly Student Activities/Events 
  • Give input on the equipping of parents for At Home Discipleship 
  • Coordinate special events like Summer Camp, Retreats, etc.

Situated between Winston-Salem and Boone, NC, Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church, Wilkesboro, is currently seeking a Student/Youth Minister, who will come with passion and vision for how to impact the lives of students and grow the ministry. Areas of focus include group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. The Student/Youth Minister will serve FCABC children and youth as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with a strong biblical background.

This person must be a strong believer in Jesus Christ who is biblically sound and grounded in the Christian faith.

Degree Level: No degree required, but Bachelor’s Degree a plus Experience: Prior experience working in a youth leader/counselor role strongly preferred. Must be able to work positively with children, teenagers, youth adults and diverse groups Other Requirements: Regular and reliable attendance. Salary: To be determined Schedule/Hours of Work: 15-25 hours per week (includes weekends and some holidays)

Duties: • Create and execute a long-term discipling culture and learning system focused on the next generation middle and high school youth and their parents with a focus on a strong Sunday morning and Wednesday evening learning and worship experience • Working with other church leaders, research, lead and organize effective student programs implementing worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, evangelism, small groups, and fellowship as well as ministry and mission opportunities for students • Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers to partner in teaching and developing students • Invest relationally with students and build relationships and partnerships with local schools, sports teams, and other youth organizations to help engage and support youth • Plan youth emphasis events to involve youth in areas of church leadership and evangelism • Organize and execute multi-day/overnight youth/children enrichment activities such as camps, mission trips, etc. • Counsel youth and work with their family and friends to help resolve issues related to their spiritual well-being • Lead regular youth leadership meetings • Periodically serve as a member of the church council • Analyze financial needs of the youth ministry and submit an annual budget to the Finance Committee • Serve as an advocate for the youth, educating the congregation about the hopes, concerns, and needs of the youth • Pursue and participate in continuing education events and training opportunities within youth ministry • Ensure adequate volunteer support and adult-to-youth ratios • Maintain accurate records of youth participation • Regularly and timely communicate with church leadership, staff, parents, and congregation utilizing efficient available resources (text, email, website, newsletter, calendar, etc.) • Maintain a flexible schedule that allows for approved and scheduled visits with youth in a variety of ways/venues (attendance at extracurricular activities, times of crisis, etc.) • Provide direct oversight and supervision to youth volunteers • Work alongside VBS Director to promote and ensure a successful VBS • Work alongside the Missions Director to promote and ensure a successful children and youth Missions program • Perform other ministry tasks assigned by the Senior Pastor

The Worship Minister will be a significant presence in the FCABC family. He or she will provide a specific focus on worship in the lives of the FCABC family through leading worship, assisting in the planning and execution of worship services, and cultivating a sense of unity within the music programs.

Duties: • Alongside the Senior Pastor, spiritually discern and lead worship services • Work with the Senior Pastor to fully develop, plan and execute the worship, praise and instrumental programs of the church • Identify, develop, empower and pastorally care for people within the Worship ministry • Oversee all music and singers, Choir, Praise Team, Praise Band, Congregational Worship, and Sound Team • Work with and support video production, lighting and media • Oversee scheduling of all worship teams for Worship services • Encourage high standards of spiritual commitment and musical excellence for those involved with the music program • Recruit and encourage persons with musical skills as needed for the church, including prospective volunteers • Determine equipment needs for buildings and venues, coordinating repair and replacement of broken equipment • Identify and order music and supplies needed for the worship teams/congregation • Hold scheduled practice each week • Attend staff meetings • Other duties as they arise. Qualifications: 

  • Fulfills the character qualifications and duties of a church Leader as taught in the Scriptures (1 Timothy 3 & 5, Titus 1 & 2, 1 Peter 5)
  • Has the ability and desire to preach, teach and do pastoral ministry  
  • Possesses strong gifts of leading, teaching, administration, organization, and time management  
  • Is theologically aligned with WBBC’s Statement of Faith
  • At a minimum, requires an Associate Degree from a Baptist Bible College, with higher degree considered
  • 5+ years ministry experience as Senior Pastor in Church of smaller or equal size preferred , but not required
