Encouraging all the BBA partners to continue to minister "Neighbor to Neighbor" because of the Gospel, as we begin to impact lives with the Gospel during this COVID-19 crisis. Please continue to read to let me say THANK YOU and find out more ways you can minister to impact your community.
- Baptist on Mission reports that at least 13 Buncombe Associational Churches have fulfilled 79 request for food boxes and wellness/comfort checks. The BBA is grateful to have been a part in promoting/connecting your involvement with NCBOM and the Buncombe County Emergency Management. You can still connect by sending an email to email@example.com.We know that each of our local churches are impacting their communities with ministry in various ways.
- There is also an opportunity to connect with the Buncombe County Schools as they continue to feed breakfast and lunches as well as provide food boxes to families as they become aware of the need. Shannon Boyd and the BCS Family Resource Center are made aware daily of families that are running low on food at home. Many school employees are working diligently to make sure this need is met. If your church family would like to donate food items, you may drop them off between 10am and 3pm Monday - Friday at 175 Bingham Road in Asheville. If you would like to make a donation for purchase of food you may go to https://www.buncombeschools.org/cms/One.aspx?portalId=92531&pageId=7614369 or call Shannon Boyd at 828-775-1898. The BBA has contributed to this cause. If you are aware of a family who stands in need, you may call 828-225-4768 to ask for assistance.
- Most of you are aware of the April Food Roundup for the Baptist Children's Home and the postponement of this opportunity till August. This Food Roundup meets a very critical need for the children of the Baptist Children's Home. The BBA would like to ask our churches or individuals to consider donating gift cards from Walmart or Food Lion during the months of May and June, Please mail these gift cards to the Buncombe Baptist Association at 227 Hazel Mill Road, Asheville, NC 28806. These gift cards will be hand delivered at the end of June to the Broyhill Campus in Clyde. This will meet a critical need at this time until we are able to receive food in August.
