Part-Time Administrative Assistant

FBC Marshall is seeking a person to serve in the job of Administrative Assistant. The job is expected to be approximately 20 hours a week, much of which must be spent at the church office.   • Experience is preferred

Job Requirements

  • Prepare the weekly church bulletin for distribution, including keeping one bulletin on file from each week
  • Order Sunday School literature, supplies and other teaching, offering envelopes, training and worship supplies as needed
  • Order office supplies as needed and maintain office equipment
  • Provide clerical support required by the pastor, staff, or other committees (Examples include but are not limited to: Updating membership rolls, updating website, email reminders, printing certificates, making copies, mailing documents, maintaining church email and phone calls)
  • Collect, sort and distribute mail appropriately
  • Prepare and submit the Annual Church Profile for the Baptist State Convention of NC each year
  • Keep copyright, streaming, and software licenses up to date
  • Assists with performing background checks on volunteers and new employees as needed

Part-Time Financial Secretary

FBC Marshall is seeking a person to serve in the job of Financial Secretary. The job is expected to be approximately 10 hours a week, some of which should be spent at the church office. Experience is required. Applicants should submit a resume for review to revblack@fbcmarshall.com

Job Description:

  • Prepare financial statements for review at the quarterly business meetings and attend quarterly business meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Balance all bank accounts, maintain FBCM’s NC Baptist Foundation account, order checks and deposit booklets/bags, and make bank transactions as needed.
  • Maintain and secure church debit and credit cards and associated accounts
  • Pay expenses and maintain accounting transactions on software provided by First Baptist Church
  • Oversee employee pay direct deposits, record payroll transactions, prepare and file quarterly payroll forms, and pay all payroll taxes, and prepare reimbursement checks.
  • Prepare, file, and distribute year-end tax forms
  • Serve as a member of the Stewardship Committee
  • Prepare and file semi-annual sales tax reimbursement from the NC Department of Revenue
  • Provide assistance and financial information to church committees or church appointed persons as directed by First Baptist Church
  • Responsible for all aspects of online giving (duties include: document for annual tax statements, assign gifts as designated, and maintaining necessary components of online giving)
  • Prepare and submit audit for annual workers compensation audit in March of each year
