Position: Youth Pastor – Birth to College
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Hours: Full-Time with one weekday and Saturday off. Salaried position with benefits.

Position Type: Pastoral Staff /Youth Pastor
The Youth Pastor provides vision, leadership, and oversight for all ministries serving children from birth through college. This includes Sunday morning Nursery and Elementary programs, and Wednesday night discipleship programs. Special emphasis is placed on ministering to students in 6th through 12th grade through special Wednesday evening worship, preaching, teaching, and loving them and their parents so that all come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and grow in their faith.
Qualifications:
- We are looking for a man who is a committed follower of Jesus Christ, called by God to minister to children, who is fully aligned with our beliefs as outlined in The Baptist Articles of Faith, and excited to design age-appropriate discipleship programs that builds confidence in each child so they can lead others to Christ, develop their spiritual gifts, and serve their church, school, local community and possibly serve on the global mission field.
- Prefer a bachelor’s degree in ministry, seminary trained or proven personal experience.
- Adaptable and coachable, flexible under pressure, open to feedback, and committed to continuous growth.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine love for children and families.
- Pastor, disciple, and build authentic relationships with kids and families.
- Creative ability to assess programs, develop engaging lessons to lead all to become followers of Jesus Christ, and a discipleship program to develop each age group.
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers of all ages.
- Participate in various public-school programs that encourage Christian growth in students, such as FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes in middle and high school, and Good News Club for elementary-age kids.
- Work in harmony with other staff members to ensure we build children’s programs that are aligned with our beliefs and contribute to our goal to be a ministry of excellence.
- Able to temporarily lead the church when the senior pastor is unavailable.
We are affiliated with the Carolina Associations of Baptists in North Carolina, the State Convention of Baptists in North Carolina, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
